| NLP BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROL |
|
N.L.P. Blood pressure control is a group of medicinal plant extracts, which have shown to normalize blood pressure. This preparation helps body to maintain its normal heart beat, and to coop better with excessive increase or decrease in blood pressure or heart rate. Importance: 1. Hawthorne Berry (Crataegus Laevigata or Crataegus Oxyacantha) Hawthom berries provide us with one of the best tonic remedies for the heart and the circulatory system. They act in a normalizing way upon the heart by either stimulating or depressing its activity depending upon the need. The leaves, flowers and berries of hawthorn contain a variety of bioflavonoids like complexes that appear to be primarily responsible for the cardiac actions of the plant. Bioflavonoids contain ofigomeric procyanidis (OPCS), vitexin, quercetin, and hyperoside. Hawthorn has numerous beneficial effects on the heart and blood vessels. It may improve coronary artery blood flow and the contractions of the heart muscle, also it may inhibit angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) and reduce production of the potent blood vessels constricting substance angiotensin 11. This reduces resistance in arteries and improves extremity circulation. The bioflavonoids in hawthorn are potent antioxidant. Hawthorn extracts may mildly lower blood pressure in some individuals with high blood pressure but shouldn't be though of as substitute for cardiac medication for this condition. Hawthorn extract may take one to two months for maximum effect and should be considered a long-term therapy. Hawthorn is extremely safe for long-term use; there are no known interactions with prescription cardiac medications or other drugs. There are no known contraindications to its use during pregnancy or lactation. 2. Garlic (Allium Sativum) – deodorized Garlic contains: Vitamins AB,C, and some vitamin H. It is rich in calcium, sulpher compund (allicin, etc), zinc, copper, potassium, phosphoric acid, and amino acids. In addition, it includes volatil oil, mucilage, glucotanins, germanium. Garlic is among the few herbs that have a universal usage and recognition. Its natural therapeutic action includes: Circulatory effects: more than 250 publications have shown that garlic supports the cardiovascular system. It can significantly lower cholesterol and triglycerides levels in the blood inhibit platelet aggregation and increase fibrinolysis, which results in a slowing of blood coagulation, thereby prevent heart attacks and strokes. Garlic opens up the blood vessels increasing the flow of blood to the tissue, increasing the circulation, relieving cramps and circulatory disorders. Anti microbial action: Garlic has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activity. It may work against some intestinal parasites. Garlic appears to have roughly 1% strength of penicillin against certain types of bacteria. Candida albicans growth is inhibited by garlic and garlic has shown long term benefit for recurrent yeast infections. Antioxidant Anticancer effect: Human population studies show that eating garlic regularly reduces the risk of esophageal, stomach, and colon cancer. This is partly due to garlic's ability to reduce the formation of carcinogenic compounds. Research has shown that garlic acts as a powerfid antioxident and its sulpher component have antitumour activities. Animal and test tube studies also show that garlic and its sulpher compounds inhibit the growth of different types of cancer especially breast and skin tumors. Garlic can significantly strengthen the immune system. 3. Black and Blue Cohosh (Cimicifuga Nacemosa) Cohosh contains several important ingredients including triterpene glycosides (e.g. Acetin and cimicifugoside) and isoflavones (e.g. formononetin). Other constituents include aromatic acids, tannins, resins, fatty acids, starch, and sugars. The primary traditional use of black and blue Cohosh has been as a relaxant, sedative and antipasmodic. Research suggests a pharmacological bases for its use in treating rheumatism and neuralgia. 4. Barberry Its traditional use for liver and gallbladder, ailments since it improves liver ftinction by stimulating the production of bile by the liver leading to efficient lipid metabolism Barberry is also effective as antiseptic and antidiarrheal agent. 5. Potassium Glycerophosphate Potassium is required to regulate water balance levels of acidity, blood pressure, and neuromuscular function. It is also required for carbohydrate and protien metabolism. Potassium might be supportive in conditions of congestive heart failure, hypertension, kidney stones as well as it acts as a tonic agent Potassium is needed for normal heart beat. 6. Cayenne (Capsicum Annuum Capsicum Fructescens) The active ingredients of this plant are capsaicin, carotenoids, flavonoids, essential oil and vitamin C. Cayenne is the most useful of systemic stimulants. It regulates the blood flow, equalizing and strengthening the heart, arteries, capillaries and nerves. Capsaicin and other constituents in cayenne have been shown to have several actions including reducing platelet stickiness and acting as antioxident. Cayenne is still traditionally used in herbal medicine as a general tonic, and is specific for the circulatory (i.e. improving blood circulation) and digestive system. 7. Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C) Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin that functions as a powerful antioxidant Vitamin C is needed to make collagen, that strengthens many parts of the body such as muscles and blood vessels. Vitamin C also plays important roles in wound healing and as a natural antihistamine. This vitamin also aids in the formation of liver bile and helps to fight viruses and to detoxify alcohol and other substances. The deficiency of vitamin C may lead to capillary fragility and increased possibility of bleeding, as it is required for the integrity blood capillaries and for facilitation of iron absorption. 8. Zinc gluconate Zinc is a trace element which is a component of more than 300 enzymes that are needed to repair wounds, maintain fertility, synthesize, protein, help cells reproduce, preserve vision, boost immunity and protect against free radicals, maintaining healthy appetite, among other functions. 9. Pyridoxin (Vitamin B 6) Vitamin B6 plays a vital role in metabolism. It is needed for a healthy nervous system, which can affect blood pressure in an indirect manner. Vitamin B6 is essential for antibodies and red blood cells production. Vitamin B6 is also considered as the master vitamin in the processing of amino acids (The building blocks of all proteins and some hormones). Vitamin B6 helps to make and take a part many amino acids and is also needed to make serotonin, melatonin, and dopamine. Direction for use: Adults: take one (1) capsule daily or as directed by your physician. |
